Washington Running Club is a thriving, friendly club with almost 250 members from the age of 16 upwards and  welcome new members of all abilities. Our main base is at Columbia Grange School and often have road trips so be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook page for the latest training schedules.

Thursday is our tempo session so lots of hill and sprint training, lung bursting but really fun and amazing for your running fitness.  Sundays are all about longer social running utilising the beautiful trail paths all along the river Wear and Penshaw Monument.

The club is also an active member of the North East Cross Country League and pays for members to race, the events are all over the north east and against other clubs – it's a great team bonding event and we encourage anyone to try it whatever ability you are.

Washington Running Club also proudly organises the Bottoms Up Cup, our famous 5k trail run in Princess Anne Park where we have raised thousands of pounds for Bloodwise.

The cost to join is then just £30 per year and an additional £16 per year if you wish to race with the club and be affiliated with England Athletics.
